christy chow

Christy Chow (b.1983) was born and grew up in Hong Kong.

 

Chow transforms mundane and tacky objects through mismatch of materials, tools and processes to create surprises and new definitions concerning humanity, sustainability and social justice. Her practice is interdisciplinary and involves video installations, interactive sculptures and performances. Chow holds a BA from The University of Hong Kong, a BFA from RMIT University. She is a MFA candidate at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. 

 

Chow is a recipient of awards including Linea de Costa Residency, Spain (2014), Transnational Feminisms Summer Institute (2014), MassArt Sustainability Initiative Fellowship (2014), and MassArt Foundation Fellowship (2014). She has exhibited in Hong Kong, United States and Spain at venues such as Merino Art Centre, Boston, Arnheim Gallery, Boston, Pao Gallery, Hong Kong, Hong Kong City Hall, Hong Kong, Espacio de Creación Contemporánea, Spain. Chow currently lives and works in Boston, MA.
